Individual Therapy

Welcome

I offer individual therapy in a private practice. Many of us come to therapy for the first time when we are in a state of pain or difficulty. Therapy can be healing because it helps us process hard emotions in the safety of a therapeutic relationship in a confidential space. I believe that when we are armed with both insight and kindness to ourselves, positive changes are possible.

About

My approach is person-centered. We all have within us the resilience and capacity to grow. In my experience, once a positive, warm and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship is developed, individuals are able to confront difficult topics, process painful emotions, and heal.

For more than ten years, I have worked with many patients from a multitude of backgrounds and circumstances and have found that we all just want to be truly understood. I strive to understand individuals’ experiences and how this has shaped their behaviors and view of the world. I work with and empower people to build skills to manage difficult emotions and find ways to develop new patterns of behavior that better serve them.

I received my Masters in Social Work at the Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City in 2007. I am trained in trauma-informed care, LGBTQ+ cultural competence, and the substance use harm reduction approach. My experience includes working with individuals dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions. I am clinically licensed in Arizona.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, only then can I change.”
